How your answers are handled
Privacy.
Plain English, no legalese. Read it. Argue with it.
Your answers and report are saved in our database (Neon Postgres) so you can come back to your report at /r/[id] from any device. Anonymous — no account required.
To write your report, your answers are sent to MiniMax — the AI provider whose model writes the synthesis.
We don't sell anything. We don't train on your answers. We don't tell your firm. Email admin@legalquants.com and we'll delete your data within 24 hours.
What we collect
The 22 answers you give The Mirror — firm name, PQE, slider positions, free-text answers. The full report MiniMax writes for you. That's it. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics. No email unless you give it to us through the waitlist form.
Where your answers go
- Your browser holds them in
sessionStoragewhile you take the Mirror. - When you click “See the Mirror,” your answers are POSTed to our server.
- Our server saves a row in our Neon Postgres database — your answers, the chosen archetype, and the full report — keyed by a random UUID. That UUID is also set as a cookie on your browser (
mirror_session_id) so you can revisit your report at/r/[id]. - The same answers are forwarded to MiniMax (model:
MiniMax-M2.7) to write the report. The report streams back, and we save it.
MiniMax's data policy is theirs, not ours. As of writing, they state they don't use API inputs for model training. If that matters to you, read their terms before taking the Mirror.
Your /r/[id] URL is the password
The URL where your report lives — for example /r/8a7c4e22-… — is unguessable (122 bits of entropy). Anyone with that URL can read the report. The URL itself is the access control. If you bookmark it, you can come back. If you share it, the recipient sees your full report including your candid answers and salary floor. Don't share it unless you mean to.
The “name a person” question
Question 12 — the one that asks for a name of someone whose career bothers you — is optional. If you write a name, it's sent to MiniMax along with your other answers so the report can reference your specific reference group, and it's saved in our database. If you'd rather, write a description (“an engineer friend who...”) instead of a name. Or skip it entirely. The skip button is always there.
What we don't do
- We don't sell data. There is no business model that involves selling lawyer career anxieties.
- We don't fine-tune any models on your answers.
- We don't tell your firm. We don't tell anyone.
- We don't require an account, an email, or any identifier. The Mirror is anonymous by default.
- We don't set third-party tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is
mirror_session_id— a random UUID that lets you find your report again.
How to delete your data
Email admin@legalquants.com with the URL of your report (/r/[id]) — or just “delete everything tied to my-email@example.com” if you also signed up for the waitlist. We'll delete your row from the database within 24 hours and confirm by reply.
